Benzema eager to help Varane settle at Real Madrid

Karim Benzema is delighted Real Madrid have won the race for Lens defender Raphael Varane.

Benzema is happy another Frenchman will be joining him at Real next season.

"Zinedine Zidane has recommended him and that says it all. I think Varane knew the Madrid train only happens once in a lifetime," said Benzema.

"It is an immense fortune to play at this club and he has to seize the opportunity. I welcome him. He can count on me to talk to him and help him in his new life in Madrid."
