Benitez delighted to hear Morientes wants Liverpool move

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez admits he is delighted to hear that Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes wants a move to Anfield.

The two clubs remain locked in negotiations over a fee for the Spanish international and Benitez said: "The only thing I can say is that we are very happy that a player from Real Madrid says he wants to come to play for us."

"It means we are doing the right things and we are an important club. And an important player wants to come here. That is good also for us."
