Benfica Sign Brazilian International Luisao

Benfica have signed Cruzeiro's Brazilian international defender Luisao on a six-year contract.

The 21-year-old had earlier been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are scouring the market for a central defender after missing out on Argentine Gabriel Milito.

However, Benfica have won the race and signed the player for 2.5m euroes, although Cruzeiro retain 50% of the players ownership should he be sold on in the future.
