Benfica coach Camacho avoids Real Madrid questions

Benfica coach Jose Antonio Camacho is the favourite to replace Carlos Queiroz at Real Madrid.

When pressed about the speculation yesterday, Camacho refused to deny talks had already been held with Real over a move out of respect to Queiroz.

"I cannot say anything until next Monday," said Camacho. "I cannot say that it would not appeal to me to coach Real Madrid."

"I won't say I want to go there. If I said straight out that I wanted to join Real Madrid, it would put a colleague (Queiroz) under pressure and I do not want to do that."

"I ask for people to respect my job, as I will respect the position of the Real Madrid coach. At the moment, I cannot confirm or deny anything regarding this story."
