Bellingham has chosen to join Real Madrid, negotiations with Dortmund set to start

After a long-fought transfer saga involving some of Europe’s biggest names, a final decision from Jude Bellingham was expected in April.

The Englishman was set to choose from one of two options on the table: Manchester City and Real Madrid.

According to reports from AS, the Borussia Dortmund star has finally made his choice. He wishes to play for the Merengues, and Real Madrid have seemingly got their man. Negotiations between the club and Borussia Dortmund are expected to start in the coming days.

The youngster is seen as a vital component of Real Madrid’s midfield in the long-term future and is deeply admired at the offices of the Santiago Bernabeu. In fact, he has been the European Champions’ top target for several months now.

Real Madrid were best placed to sign the youngster for a long time until Manchester City appeared on the scene. The prospect of joining Pep Guardiola’s solid project, that too in his own country, was unsurprisingly a tempting option for the player and his family.

In the end, it appears that Bellingham has given the green light to his personal dream move.

However, the deal is far from done. Bellingham may have chosen from his shortlist, but everything hinges on the financial discussions.

Borussia Dortmund’s demands for the teenager have significantly increased after the bidding war commenced but Real Madrid are only willing to go so far in terms of transfer fee.

The 19-year-old has racked up five goals and four assists from 28 Bundesliga appearances this season in addition to five goal contributions in the UEFA Champions League. Further, he averages 1.1 key passes and 2 shots per game and has created eight big chances.
