Becks tells Real Madrid's Salgado to forget Man Utd

David Beckham has urged Real Madrid teammate Michel Salgado not to join Manchester United.

United are willing to double Salgado's £1 million salary to land the right-back on a Bosman next summer.

Salgado's agent, Gines Carvajal said: "Michel enjoys his football at Real."

"The players talk about football and Beckham told him Real Madrid is the best team in the world - a club no player should want to leave."

"Michel does want to stay at Real Madrid. Of course there is interest from other clubs but the priority is to talk to Real about a new contract."
