Beckham: Woody will be great for Real Madrid

David Beckham is delighted that he'll be counting on England pal Jonathan Woodgate as a Real Madrid teammate this season.

Beckham told AS: "I gave him a very sincere welcome to the team and wish him all the luck in the world. First thing I would emphasize of him is that he is a very good person."

"To me, he seems a magnificent soccer player. He is a great centre-half, without a doubt. I would emphasize his strength and his speed. He is very good in the air and he can dominate games. In addition, he is very good on the ball for a centre-half."

Becks added, "I am convinced he will be very good for Real Madrid this season."
