Beckham turned to Eriksson for advice on Man Utd exit

David Beckham turned to his England manager Sven Goran Eriksson for advice on moving abroad ahead of yesterday's announcement of a deal with Real Madrid.

The Evening Standard says Beckham sought the Swede's advice over the last two weeks before agreeing to the €35 million transfer.

Eriksson never urged Beckham to quit United, but the talks do illustrate how the England skipper has turned away from Sir Alex Ferguson over the last six months.
