Beckham pulls up with back pain in Real training

Back pains prevented England captain David Beckham from completing training with Real Madrid on Thursday but the club said he will be available for Saturday's clash against arch-rivals Barcelona.

Beckham walked off midway through a practice match against one of the Real Madrid reserve teams and asked for treatment from the club physiotherapists.

Real said that the player underwent a brief medical examination and the back pain would not prevent him taking part in Saturday's match at the Bernabeu.
 
The 30-year-old midfielder said recently that he has been receiving anti-inflammatory injections before and after games because of his back problems.

"My back is always quite sore after games," he told reporters after last month's 4-1 Champions League win over Rosenborg.

"I have been told that the position I get into when I am passing, crossing or shooting is different from others so it is going to put a lot of strain on my back."
