Beckham ordered to rest because of bruised back

England captain David Beckham is nursing a bruised back, but there are no indications the injury will keep him out of this Sunday's friendly against Denmark.

Beckham sustained the injury to his lower back during Real Madrid's 4-1 defeat against Sevilla at the weekend and club doctors have advised him to rest until Wednesday.

The former Manchester United player has been left out of Real's squad for a friendly match against Valladolid on Tuesday, but should be ready to hook up with his England team mates later this week to prepare for Sunday's friendly at Old Trafford.
