Beckham must surrender image rights for Real Madrid deal

If David Beckham is to sign with Real Madrid, his management company will have to surrender all image rights to the Spanish giants.

Real sports chief Jorge Valdano is unlikely to compromise, having succeeded in previous deals for Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo.

Beckham can bring his own current sponsors to Real, but any future endorsements must follow club policy - that is, an equal split of 50-50.

The only two marketable players who are yet to sign off half their image rights at Real are Raul and Roberto Carlos.

However, Real are unconcerned as their latest deals were both organized by the club's marketing department.
