Beckham in great shape for World Cup

Real Madrid star David Beckham says he's in perfect shape for the World Cup.

The England captain is finally ready to do it on the world stage - and with a team he believes is prepared for glory.
 
He said: "I feel perfect and it's a great feeling to have before a World Cup."

"I feel great physically and mentally and, touch wood, I'm not going into the tournament with any injuries."

"We can achieve something special in Germany and will go out there and give everything in every game."

"With our players and that attitude we can go all the way."

Becks set up two goals in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Hungary and bamboozled the visitors with his delivery.

England boss Sven Goran Eriksson said: "He has the best right foot in the world."

"He has stamina, he works, he is hungry and he is clever."

"David is desperate to have a very good World Cup and I am sure he will."

Beckham added: "We have an outstanding squad with a core of players who know what it's like to play in the biggest games."
