Beckham enjoys relationship with Real Madrid fans

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham admits he wants to stay primarily because of the fans.
 
"I got goose bumps walking off the other night," Beckham told The Times. "I have a great relationship with the fans. They are traditionally hard to please because they have seen so many of the world's great players, but, like all supporters, they appreciate a work ethic as well as great skill."

"I had friends sitting in the crowd at the game recently and they could hear some local fans saying they had saved up their money, putting their coins in a jar, just to watch us struggle against someone. You can't always play well, but at least if they can see you working hard they won't resent saving their cash."
