Beckham critical of Real Madrid Asia tour

David Beckham has criticised Real Madrid's long Far East preseason tour.
 
They have been greeted by crowds at airports and at their hotels, with over 20,000 watching a training session carried out in Japan.

"There have been difficult days on the tour," Beckham told RealMadrid TV.

"Physically it is not good for the players. It is hard because we have still not done any hard training and we have not got up to competition speed. You finish the games feeling very tired and it is harder to recover."

He added: "I have to win some titles. It would be a dream to win all three (League, Cup and Champions League), but first of all I want to win the Champions League," Beckham admitted, reflecting on a barren two-year spell in Spain.

Finally, Beckham praised coach Wanderley Luxemburgo, who joined Madrid at the end of last year. Beckham believes starting the season with the Brazilian in charge will give the side a huge boost.

"It will be very good for us. Last season we had three coaches but since he arrived things improved as you could see with our spectacular second half of the season," he added.
