Beckham committed to long-term Real Madrid stay

David Beckham has indicated he's ready to play out his career at Real Madrid.

Beckham says he has no intention of leaving.

"I will always keep my house in London, but I will never hide the fact that I want to be here for the rest of my career," he said.

"I want to continue here at Real and continue being England captain."

"My children are in school here and I will remain for a couple of years, even after I finish my career."
 
"Yes, probably, I will stay here even after I retire from football. I am happy. I played many years in England. Now I am delighted to have experienced the atmosphere of another country and have a different life in Spain."

Beckham, who is in decent form at Real, recalled his first season at Madrid and the moment he knew that he was on his way out of Manchester United.

"I've always said that the first time I had contact (with Real Madrid) was after Peter Kenyon confirmed to me by telephone that the club didn't want me," Beckham said.

"It's difficult to leave your home because you leave a comfort zone. I had a house in Manchester and everything was perfect there. I had my friends, and my family was two hours away, team-mates whom I knew for a very long time and the fans."

"It scares you a little bit to have to change everything. You don't know what awaits you. I felt like an apprentice that enters in his first changing room when I saw all of those famous footballers (at Madrid)."
