Bayern Munich medical today for Real Madrid midfielder Xabi

Bayern Munich have confirmed they've agreed a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Xabi is moving to Bayern for £8 million. He will undergo a medical today.

Bayern have German World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger out injured and sporting director Matthias Sammer explained why they want Alonso.

He said: "He can give us quality immediately and has at least two years left at the highest level."
