The Spanish giants are looking to strengthen their rearguard as they look to reclaim their Champions League crown from the clutches of AC Milan and have set their radar on defensive pillar Kuffour, according to the German press.
However Bayern moved quickly to quash suggestions they are ready to part with 26-year-old Kuffour and laughed off the reported price tag of 10 million euros.
"We have not had any contact from Madrid," Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told German daily Die Bild. "We do not intend to sell anyone. In any case Kuffour is worth more than 10 million euros."
Kuffour, who is remembered for punching the floor in frustration at Manchester United's 1999 Champions League victory in Barcelona, is a mainstay in the Bayern defence and has won over 50 caps for Ghana.
