The 23-year-old Spaniard was rumoured to also be looking away from Real Madrid last season, until Rafa Benitez took control and assured him of having a good amount of time on the field. Last season he had only seven starts in La Liga, while he also made 21 appearances off the bench.
Bayer Leverkusen is said to be one of many teams that are interested in Jesé, although they are the only one named in the report. Real Madrid are likely to want to include a buy-back clause in his transfer, similar to when Dani Carvajal signed for Leverkusen in 2012. He could also be loaned out for the season.
A move away will be even more likely if Real Madrid decide to bring Alvaro Morata from Juventus back to the side. Morata, who is currently competing at Euro 2016 with Spain, has been linked to a few Premier League sides. While Real Madrid could use their buy-back clause to be able to enjoy the profit, he could also end up staying in Spain.
Both Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen have already qualified for the Champions League next season. While Leverkusen finished third in the Bundesliga, Real Madrid will be the defending champions after beating rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties.
