Barcelona surrender 2-0 lead in Bilbao draw

Barcelona surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Athletic Bilbao in Raddy Antic's first game in charge yesterday.

Barca jumped 2-0 ahead through goals from Javier Saviola and Marc Overmars inside the first 15 minutes.

But Bilbao hit back in the second-half through a disputed penalty from Santiago Marin and Fernando Navarro's effort.

Afterwards, Antic said, "I don't believe we deserved the draw. We did enough to win it."

"The penalty was a wrong call. Sorin made the tackle outside the area and the decision influenced the result in the end."

"They have scored from two isolated plays. The penalty, and also our carelessness inside the area."

"The players have taken the initiative to look for a victory. Let us think that the result has been unjust. The team, with time, will progress."

"I am contented, although the result has not been favorable due to some circumstances that happen in football."
