Barcelona's Eto'o: Perez blocked Real Madrid move

Barcelona striker Sammy Eto'o has hinted he could have joined Real Madrid over the summer - only for president Florentino Perez to block the deal.

"Jose Antonio Camacho wanted me," revealed the Cameroon international. "He told my representatives."

"But then something happened and I didn't end up at the Bernabeu."

"I never spoke to Camacho directly, but I want to make this clear - he wasn't the culprit."

Eto'o added: "I guess on reflection it worked out well for me."
