Barcelona's Eto'o has swipe at Real Madrid president

Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has slammed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Eto'o says one of the reasons why he turned down a return to Real over the summer was because Perez wouldn't meet him in person.

"I told Butragueno (Real sports director Emilio Butragueno) that if Perez wants me to work with him, then he should come and meet me, not send his friend," Eto'o told Marca.

"The first day I met someone from Barcelona I knew they loved me. It was the president, Joan Laporta, and he also brought the coach."

"If Madrid wanted me, then the president should have shown some effort."

He added, "I told Florentino through my lawyer what I thought. He knew my feelings. I regard Barcelona as more a team than Real Madrid."
