Barcelona president won't rule out Joaquin bid

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has refused to deny their interest in Real Betis winger Joaquin.

The Spanish international, outstanding against Barca in Sunday's 3-3 draw, already has Real Madrid and Chelsea beating down Betis' door to speak with him.

When asked if Joaquin would "be more interested in playing for Barcelona than Real Madrid", Laporta replied, "I can't give you anything concrete on that question."

"Joaquin is a magnificent player."

Meanwhile, TV3 state that Barca have made "a very tempting offer" to Betis for the winger. A source close to Joaquin says Barca's offer includes Juan Roman Riquelme and that the player is very open to moving to the Nou Camp.

Betis coach Lorenz Serra Ferrer is keen to bring Riquelme to Seville, even if it means he will lose Joaquin in the summer.
