Barcelona president wants to beat Real Madrid for Ramos

Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to trump Real Madrid for Seville defender Sergio Ramos.
 
Real president Florentino Perez asked after Ramos during Sunday's 2-2 draw between the two clubs, but Laporta has instructed his representatives to accelerate negotiations with the youngster's agent and also Seville officials.

Seville president Jose Maria del Nido is reluctant to sell the Spanish international, but knows with both Real and Barca battling for Ramos' signature a very big profit can be made.

Ramos penned a new contract through to 2008 this season with a buyout clause of £18 million and Del Nido is unlikely to sell for anything less
