Barcelona president Gaspart: I feel great shame

Barcelona president Joan Gaspart admitted to feeling "great shame" regarding his club's current crisis.

At the presentation of Radomir Antic as new trainer, Gaspart said: "I feel great shame by the crisis that crosses Barcelona, but assume this state of shame because also I have a responsibility to this club."

"For me, Barcelona is a religion, I have an extreme passion and for that reason I am like I am, in a state that I would not wish on my worst enemy. Whereas any normal person would be thinking that this only is football."

Gaspart also confirmed that he had spoken with Caesar Luis Menotti before appointing Antic.

He said he was ready to speak with Menotti in Barcelona before Antic convinced him that he was the right man for the job.
