Barcelona plan to trump Man Utd, Real Madrid for Eriksson

Barcelona are considering a shock move for England manager Sven Goran Eriksson.

Club president Joan Gaspart is already running out of patience with trainer Louis van Gaal, with the club eight points behind La Liga leaders Real Sociedad.

Eriksson still has two more years to run on his £3 million-a-year contract with the FA. But the sudden resignations of chief executive Adam Crozier and assistant coach Steve McClaren have put his future in doubt.

Along with Barcelona, Eriksson has also been linked with Real Madrid, AS Roma and Manchester United.

Last month's dismal 2-2 home draw with Macedonia has added to the pressure on the Swede.
