The Chilean was already reportedly given a lifeline following Madrid's humiliating Copa del Rey first leg defeat to Alcorcon a fortnight ago but survived, with a win over Getafe and a fine performance in the 1-1 draw against Italian giants Milan.
However following their failure to even com close to overturning the Copa reversal by the Segunda B minnows it now appears that club president Florentino Perez has fresh doubts about Pellegrini's ability to handle his multi-million euro side.
