Barcelona face potential sanctions as La Liga reports multiple incidents from Real Madrid Clasico

Barcelona have had a week to forget on every front, losing to PSG in the Champions League and seeing their La Liga lead halved against Madrid.
The next day, more bad news awaited Barça after it emerged that their star man, Lamine Yamal, had finished third in the Ballon d’Or voting.
Now, the heated atmosphere surrounding Sunday’s Clasico has attracted disciplinary scrutiny, with the club potentially facing sanctions.
According to La Liga‘s official report, 17 incidents were recorded during the encounter, including ten involving Barcelona supporters and seven attributed to travelling Real Madrid fans.
The findings have been forwarded to the Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission.
The report identifies several offensive chants from sections of the Barcelona crowd, including “Cucurella, son of a b****” and “F*** Real Madrid, f*** Real Madrid.”
Another chant directed towards the visiting supporters included the words “Madrid supporters, sons of b*****.” Insults were also aimed at Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho.
However, the most serious incidents occurred following Kylian Mbappe’s winning goal in the 87th minute.
Supporters belonging to the Grada Gol 1957 section reportedly threw bottles, cans, lighters and a vaping device towards the pitch during Madrid’s celebrations.
None of the objects struck the visiting players, but the referee temporarily stopped proceedings for one minute and 20 seconds while a stadium announcement was made.
The report also states that a spectator struck Eduardo Camavinga with a flag during the celebrations.
Importantly, the investigation was not limited to Barcelona supporters.
Seven incidents involved travelling Madrid fans, who repeatedly directed offensive anti-Barcelona chants, including “F*** Barca, f*** Barca, hey.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s security staff identified the individual involved in the Camavinga incident, with the club preparing to apply its internal regulations to expel the supporter.
La Liga also emphasised that the incidents were confined to particular sections, with the overwhelming majority of Barcelona supporters behaving appropriately.
That is very important. The club should not have its wider fanbase judged by isolated incidents, although unacceptable behaviour still demands consequences.
The disciplinary committee will now examine the report and assess what sanctions need to be imposed.
No punishment has been confirmed yet, and it remains to be seen how the findings affect Barcelona in the coming weeks.
