Barcelona coach Guardiola "surprised" by Real Madrid's Schuster sacking

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has shrugged off the change of manager at Real Madrid.

Asked about Real's sacking of Bernd Schuster, Guardiola said: "It is a decision for Real Madrid, there's few things I can add. It is a question for those responsible for Real Madrid, I have no opinion on the matter in that regard."

"I was surprised. I have my opinion on this case, but I'll hold onto it."

On Juande Ramos' appointment, Guardiola remarked: "To have Juande Ramos at Real is neither better nor worse for us, Madrid is a great team, with good players."

"We face Real Madrid this weekend, so we'll study them against Zenit St Petersburg and see if there are any tactical changes. Obviously, with a change of coach you expect a greater effort. We'll probably have to work harder in midfield."
