Barcelona candidate: I was offered Real Madrid's Portillo

One of the candidates for the Barcelona presidency, Luis Bassat, insists he was offered Real Madrid striker Javier Portillo.

The youngster's agent revealed earlier this week that he had been approached about the striker's availability, but insisted he immediately rejected the approach.

However, Bassat told Radio Marca yesterday: "They offered me Mr.Portillo, but I told them I would not talk with anybody on any signing until I was president of Barca."
