Barcelona ahead of Real Madrid in Drenthe battle

Barcelona are threatening to wreck Real Madrid's hopes of signing Feyenoord wing-back Roysten Drenthe.

DiarioSport says while Real are locked in talks with Feyenoord over a fee for Drenthe, the player actually wants a move to Barca, which are also maintaining contact with the Dutch club.

Indeed, it's understood negotiations between Barca and Feyenoord are further advanced, with the Catalans willing to send Drenthe back to Holland for a season on-loan.
