Baljic ponders his future

Elvir Baljic is likely to stay at Real for at least another six months, having seen possible transfers to Milan and Lazio fall through.

The 26-year-old Bosnian forward was recently in talks with Milan, but the deal collapsed. According to reports, Real then received a tempting offer from Lazio, with the Italian club's executives apparently offering Darko Kovacevic and Simone Inzaghi in exchange for Baljic, but this attempt also failed.

However, Baljic is not disappointed, saying that he will either play for Real or find a new club.

"I was close to a move to Rome last week," admitted Baljic.

"Lazio executives had talks with Jorge Valdano, and he was talking with Vicente del Bosque. But the coach decided not to let me go."

"I heard that he says it is better for him that I stay in Madrid. I am here now, training with the team-mates, but if I don't get my chance, I will be on the way out to some other team."
