Baljic keen on Italian switch

Real Madrid striker Elvir Baljic has turned down the opportunity to return to Turkey favouring instead a spell in Italy's Serie A.

The 27-year-old has been transfer-listed by Real, who are keen to offload the player before the end of the month. Baljic was linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray as part of a swap deal involiving Brazilian ace Mario Jardel. But the Bosnian frontman does not want to go back to Turkey, least of all to Gala, arch-rivals of the player's former club, Fernabahce. The player's future could lie at AC Milan, who may arrange either a year's loan or a straight cash deal for Baljic. However, Milan will first want to see if they can find an buyer for former Atletico Madrid striker, Jose Mari Romero.
