Baljic eyes Rayo challenge

Rayo Vallecano's new Bosnian loan signing Elvir Baljic says he hopes to prove a point after struggling to get into Real Madrid's first team.

Baljic decided to sign the Rayo contract after his failure to grab a place in Vicente Del Bosque's starting line–up, and says he his pleased with the move across the Spanish capital.

The striker said: "I am very happy that I signed the contract with Rayo. I spent too much time sitting on Real's bench and I think playing for Rayo is the best solution for me."

"I will do my best to play at the highest level to prove to everybody at Real that I was able to play in their squad."

"I still don't know where my future will eventually lie, although I will wait until the end of the season, but I am sure that I will get an offer from England or Italy. And when I receive that offer, I will not say no."

The player's agent Dino Pasalic said that he finished negotiations with Rayo executives successfully and that Baljic is happy with the conditions of the contract.

"Everything has ended in the best possible way," said Pasalic, who has already sold two Bosnian players, Elvir Bolic and Emir Granov, to Vallecano.

He added: "Rayo's executives were very understanding with everything that we discussed."

Meanwhile, Baljic is set to play some part in Sunday's Primera Liga match against Malaga.

"Tomorrow I will have my first training session with my new team-mates and I will be in the squad for the Malaga match. But I think I will be playing for half an hour because I am still not 100 per cent fit, but I will be for the rest of the championship," said Baljic.

On being given the number 23 shirt, he added: "That is the number Michael Jordan wears. He has made a successful comeback. I hope that I will do the same thing."
