Balboa, Raul And Dudek Pick Up Injuries

Javier Balboa picked up a knee injury in his team’s 2-1 loss against Real Mallorca in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

The Real Madrid midfielder was handed a rare chance to impress against Real Mallorca when he came on as a substitute.

Fate, however, has dealt a cruel blow to Balboa as he sustained a knee injury in Real's 2-1 defeat to Mallorca in the Copa Del Rey on Thursday.

When he left the field, he appeared to be in a serious state. He will undergo medical tests at the club to determine the length of time he would be sidelined for.

Balboa will not be alone, as teammate Raul Gonzalez also picked a knee injury. He could miss this weekend's matc against Levante, but is likely to recover in time for return leg against Mallorca next week.

Reserve goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, who started against Mallorca, will receive treatment after pulling a muscle in his right leg.
