Backroom team follow Luxemburgo out of Real Madrid

Vanderlei Luxemburgo's backroom team will follow him out of Real Madrid and back to Brazil this week.
 
Real vice-president Emilio Butragueno confirmed the staff clearout yesterday, which will see Luxemburgo's four-person team leave the club in the coming days.

Assistant coach Marcelo Teixeira is likely to follow Luxemburgo into his next job.

First team coach Paulo Campos, who was almost sacked last week for publicly criticising midfielder Guti, took training yesterday in Luxemburgo's absence, but won't stay.

Physical trainer Antonio Mello has been criticised this season for the players' lack of fitness, which was rubbished by Luxemburgo last month. Like Teixeira, he'll stay with Luxemburgo for his next posting.

Nutritionist Patricia Teixeira has been a huge success since her arrival, but is also expected to leave Real this week. Her influence has seen Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Michel Salgado and Guti all lose weight this season - acknowledged by all the players in question.
