Atletico set to bet on Tote

Atletico Madrid are set to make a move for Tote when the transfer window reopens after the striker stated that he is desperate to leave Real Madrid.

The Champions League winners have a wealth of forwards and Tote is way down the list behind Ronaldo, Raul and Fernando Morientes.

Tote has never hidden the fact that he is a fan of Atletico and could upset the Bernabeu faithful by moving across the city to El Calderon.

"If there is a possibility of me going to Atletico then of course I would consider it," he said.

"I have been a supporter of the club since I was a small boy and it would be a dream to play for them."

Atletico's sports director, Paulo Futre, has expressed an interest in the 24-year-old and Tote confirmed the respect is mutual.

"When I was young Paulo Futre was my idol," he gushed. "The club also has great supporters and with them behind the team anything is possible."

Tote then expressed his frustration with the current status quo at the Bernabeu.

After tasting regular first team football during a loan spell at Valladolid, Tote now wants to move in order to play every week.

"What I really want is to move to a club that wants me to play for them in every game."

"I think I am going to have to make a move soon and will begin looking in January."
