Atletico president has swipe at Real Madrid, Ronaldo

Atletico Madrid president Jesus Gil has taken a swipe at Real Madrid and Ronaldo.

In an interview with Radio Marca, the flamboyant Gil said: "I would never give up Fernando Torres for Ronaldo."

"The Brazilian is young, but he has become bourgeois and he arrives having won everything."

"On the other hand, 'Nino' still must become a player, must suffer, fight... he has much to achieve ahead of him."

Gil also refuted the rumours that Torres will be joining AC Milan.

"We have an excellent relationship with Milan, but Fernando is our player and will not leave."

Asked if he would ever sell Torres to Real Madrid, Gil added, "We all know Real are the team of the government."

"But even they wouldn't be foolish enough to try and sign Torres. No, they have Ronaldo and if he succeeds Real will forget about everything else."
