Atletico Madrid move as Real Madrid agree to Caesar release

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has given the green light for goalkeeper Caesar to join city rivals Atletico at the end of the season.

Atletico sports chief Toni Munoz is set to end his search for a new No1 with the signing of Caesar, who is a favourite of Atletico trainer Gregorio Manzano.

Caesar still has a year left on his Real contract, but is happy to move on, particularly with Perez prepared to hand him a free transfer.

He has other offers, but the opportunity to stay in Madrid - and in the La Liga - will see Caesar accept Atletico's proposal.
