Atletico Madrid coach: I thought Real Madrid would sign Pablo, Luccin

Atletico Madrid coach Caesar Ferrando has tipped summer signing Pablo for greatness.

Pablo followed Ferrando to Atletico from Albacete and has impressed pundits with the way he has adapted to playing for one of Spain's biggest clubs.

"When I first arrived at Albacete, I was tipped off about Pablo when he was playing for Third Division Caravaca," Ferrando told AS.

"He has impressive qualities and he is very intelligent. He does not lack anything."

"In addition, he is fast. Last season, when Atletico played Albacete, Fernando Torres could not get past him."

"Pablo is grandísimo central defender, I believe that he is set for national selection."
