Atletico chiefs fume as starlet joins Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid directors are fuming with their youth chief Jose Amorrortu after losing one of their top juniors this week.

Amorrortu's decision-making this season has already raised concerns inside Atletico's boardroom and the release of 19 year-old striker Javier Ibanez infuriated directors - particularly after learning where the teenager had ended up.

Only two hours after he was cut loose by Amorrortu, Ibanez was snapped up by city rivals Real Madrid - for nothing - which has left Atletico directors fuming with their academy department.
