Aruna goal takes Anderlecht past Wisla into group phase

Anderlecht booked a place in the group phase of the Champions League on Tuesday, a late goal by Aruna Dindane earning them a 1-0 win against Wisla Krakow in their third qualifying round, second leg match.

The Belgian side, who had clinched the first leg 3-1 in Brussels two weeks ago, were in control throughout but met stiff resistance from Wisla goalkeeper Adam Piekutowski, who pulled off several good saves.

However Ivorian striker Dindane finally broke the deadlock in the 84th minute, firing a powerful shot from an acute angle after deftly moving past Poland defender Mariusz Jop.

Wisla did not have a single shot on goal in the first half and produced little sign of the form that lifted them into the fourth round of the UEFA Cup earlier this year.
