Arsenal's Ljungberg seeks to end Real Madrid talk

Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg has moved quickly to dispel the rumours he is quitting Highbury to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

"I've heard the rumours about Real Madrid but nobody has been in contact with me," insisted Ljungberg. "They are a great club with great players, but I've no desire to leave Arsenal."

"On and off the pitch, you only have to look at the new stadium to see the ambition here at Arsenal."

"They want to make sure they remain one of the best clubs in the world."

"There's a great harmony in the group of players and that shows itself on the pitch. I'm sure that Madrid is a special city, but I'm enjoying myself in London too much to want to leave."
