Arsenal return to Real Madrid talks over Vieira

Arsenal have returned to the negotiating table with Real Madrid over midfielder Patrick Vieira.

After a weekend of bitter words from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, the Gunners board have performed a U-turn and reopened talks with Real yesterday afternoon over their French captain.

Marca says Real Madrid have not upped their original bid of £23 million, but Arsenal's directors have contacted Real to resume negotiations.

No agreement exists, but Arsenal now are indicating that they're prepared to talk again about Vieira moving to Spain this month.
