Arsenal chief set for Real Madrid showdown over Vieira

Arsenal and Real Madrid are headed for another showdown over midfield ace Patrick Vieira.

The Sun says Real president Florentino Perez is furious the Gunners implied illegal approaches were made to the Frenchman.

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein threatened to make an official complaint to FIFA - but has taken no action so far.

And Dein is heading for an angry showdown with Perez next Thursday at a G14 meeting in Porto.

Perez said: "We did not do anything that we are not able to justify."

But Dein insists: "There were dark forces at work."

"It's against FIFA rules to destabilise a player under contract."

"These rules are there to be respected and we intend to take some kind of action."
