Arsenal boss: Vieira doesn't want Real Madrid move

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is convinced Patrick Vieira doesn't want a move to Real Madrid.

Wenger said: "I am not in Patrick's head but I don't think he has an interest in Real Madrid. I hope it is natural for him to stay with Arsenal because it is his club. He is a leader with us and he has a job to do."

"I want him to be a part of our development and I think he is highly committed to us. I was always confident that he would stay and that remains the case."

"He is a real professional and he is focused on his job. Patrick is training hard for us and working to get fit because the international players are a little bit behind the rest."

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein is expected to sit down with Vieira and thrash out a solution in the next few days.
