Arsenal boss invites Real Madrid bid for Reyes

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to open talks with Real Madrid about the possible sale of striker Jose Reyes.

He said: "I am not so sure that Madrid want Reyes but if that is the case they have to pick up the phone and call us."

Arsenal have conceded homesick Reyes is a lost cause for the club after failing to settle in England since his move from Seville 14 months ago. The Gunners have laid out £10.5m on the winger so far but will look to sell for around £15m.

Wenger admits Reyes is struggling in London. He added: "His form is not as good as I hoped."

"I spoke to him to ask him what was the matter but he said he really didn't know why he has played so badly."
