Arsenal boss denies Vieira exit claims

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied reports that Patrick Vieira is on the verge of a move to Real Madrid.

Wenger also insisted no talks had been held with Porto midfielder Maniche, who is widely tipped as the man to replace Vieira at Highbury.

He said: "There's not a lot to talk about."

"I'll talk to Patrick tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. But it is difficult to concentrate on the team - there are 20 other players in the squad who need the same attention."

Wenger added, "I don't know who wants our players to go."

"But we always start the season with the same players - no team has been more stable than us in the last five years."
