Arsenal and Manchester City will battle it out for Real Madrid star

Isco could leave La Liga and Real Madrid for the Premier League and Arsenal or Manchester City.

Arsenal and Manchester City are both interested in signing Real Madrid star Isco next summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper Sport has claimed both Premier League sides are monitoring his situation and are set to battle it out for his signature in the summer of 2016.

Although Isco started Real Madrid's first La Liga game of the season, he has since dropped to the bench and has not managed to secure a regular first-team place.

Both Arsenal and Manchester were reportedly interested in signing the 23-year-old attacking midfielder during the summer alongside a host of other clubs.

But Isco chose to stick it out at Madrid after Carlo Ancelotti was replaced as manager by Rafa Benitez.

He started the first game of the season – a 0-0 with Sporting Gijon – before being placed on the subs bench for Real’s 5-0 thrashing of Real Betis.

Isco moved to Madrid from Malaga for €30 million in 2013 and, despite showing some flashes of brilliance, has failed to become one of the club’s real stars.

But he has still managed to play more than 100 times for Madrid, scoring 17 times.
