Referee Arturo Dauden Ibanez decided to postpone the match after a morning inspection of the snow-covered surface at the Pajaritos stadium in Soria.
Large parts of Spain have been gripped by arctic conditions this week, but Wednesday's other quarter-final match between Sevilla and Osasuna is not in danger.
The game will almost certainly be rescheduled for Wednesday February 2, the date when the second leg was originally meant to be played.
