Anything Jose Mourinho Tells The Media, He Has Already Told The Players - Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid’s cultured midfielder Xabi Alonso is unconcerned by recent criticism afforded to coach Jose Mourinho regarding his recent relationship with the media, indicating that the Portuguese informs the squad of what he will say prior to any press conferences.

Mourinho has come under scrutiny for his treatment of wide midfielder Pedro Leon, whom he left out of his Champions League selection for the trip to Auxerre and branded him "no Zinedine Zidane" when the Spanish press hunted him for an explanation.

Speaking this afternoon, though, the former Liverpool midfielder said he does not feel that there is any issue, and remarked that the players are already aware of his opinions prior to going public.

He stated: "Everything that Mourinho has said has already been spoken about in the locker room. The relationship between him and the players is honest and there is no major problem."

Regarding team-mate Leon’s reaction to the comments of his coach, Alonso added that he is aware of how hard he will need to work to be rewarded with a place in the side.

He continued: "He is okay, he trained as normal. The most important thing is that there is no more talk like this, players in the team are smart and know what they have to do, and to work hard."
